1. Performance materials

It is increasingly critical to achieve the optimal balance of strength and impact resistance, good processing characteristics, and attractive economics for automotive, construction, and household applications. Thanks to our state-of-the-art compounding infrastructure, RESIN is able to modify material properties by applying a broad range of reinforcements, impact modifiers, fillers and additives. Through close cooperation with our customers and extensive laboratory and on-site testing, RESIN has developed many generic and custom-made performance materials for a broad range of market sectors and applications.

2. Halogen-free flame-retardant polyolefins
Ever-tougher standards for flame retardancy and the demand for solutions with lower environmental impact are driving the search for halogen-free flame retardant (HFFR) solutions in plastics. Through many years of in-house development and numerous client projects, RESIN has developed HFFR technologies that meet the highest standards for flame retardancy while retaining good mechanical and processing properties, a combination that is rarely seen. RESIN’s HFFR solutions are used in a number of applications in the construction, consumer electronics, and aerospace industries.

3. Extrudable adhesive resins

Under its trade name Yparex®, RESIN offers a broad portfolio of extrudable adhesive resins for multilayer applications. These are maleic anhydride modified and functionalised polyolefin resins that provide adhesion between polyolefins (notoriously difficult to bond to, due to their broad chemical resistance) and a variety of substrates such as polyamide (PA), ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH), metal or glass. Yparex® adhesive resins are easy-to-process polyolefin-based polymers with a broad processing window that makes them suitable for most commonly available extrusion equipment. This makes them highly suitable for use in multilayer packaging, pipe extrusion, and metal coating, and as a compatibiliser for fillers and pigments.

4. Low-environmental-impact materials

With the objective of slowing the depletion of oil and gas resources and to reducing negative influences on the environment, RESIN has invested a great deal of time and effort in developing viable substitutes for polyvinyl chloride (PVC), new biocomposites, and advancing the use of post-industrial and post-consumer recyclate from plastics recycling in new compounds. In close cooperation with qualified recyclers and bioplastics manufacturers, RESIN has developed a range of thermoplastic compounds that are partially formulated with plastic recyclate or bioplastics and can be used as substitutes for traditional 100% petroleum or gas-based plastics in automotive, construction and consumer product applications.

5. Custom-made compounds

RESIN operates four state-of-the-art production lines with a wide range of dosing options for granulate, powder, or liquid inputs, whether minerals, glass or natural fibres, rubber or other additive combinations. Reactive extrusion is a core competence. Compounds produced are based on carrier materials that include polyolefins (e.g. polypropylene, PP or polyethylene, PE), polystyrene (PS), polylactic acid (PLA), polyamide (PA) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) with a wide variety of fillers and additives.

6. Toll compounding

Thanks to our extensive infrastructure, RESIN has strong toll compounding capacabilities. Our multipurpose compounding lines are equally suited for handling powders, granulates or liquids. Depending on the required volumes raw materials can be handled in silo, bigbags or 25 kg sacks.
